The smoke detector, like any electronic device, can malfunction. The only way to make sure they work when needed is to periodically test the device. To do this, use the VMD143 spray, wait 5-10 seconds for the smoke detector to activate if the alarm sounds, the device is working properly. The test should be performed at least twice a year.
